Paita takes up Mining Ministry

Our Pati Leader and Finchaffen MP, Rainbo Paita has been appointed as the new Mining Minister, by Prime Minister James Marape.
Prime Minister James Marape, announced this before flying to New Zealand this morning. (Tuesday)
Mr. Marape said that Mr. Paita will now head the Mining Ministry, while the former Minister, Wake Goi, has been moved to look after Transport and Civil Aviation, following the resignation of Walter Schnaubelt to contest the vacant New Ireland Governor’s seat.
He said that he has asked Minister Goi to ensure that work on the Boram, Tokua and Buka Airport and terminal are completed, and also ensure work is done at the Wapenamanda, Kerema and Daru Airports.
Mr. Marape also added he has also instructed Mr. Paita, to complete the Community Development Agreement [CDA] for the Porgera and Wafi Golpu Mines as well.
Mr. Marape will be away in New Zealand till Friday, and he is being accompanied by International Trade and Investment Minister, Richard Maru, Foreign Affairs Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, and Higher Education Minister, Kinoka Feo.
