London Broncos set for Doncaster showdown in 2026 Championship grand final

The stage is set for the 2026 Betfred Championship Grand Final, with London Broncos hosting Doncaster at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Monday, October 5 [1am kickoff].

Alongside second-tier silverware, a crucial 0.5 IMG bonus point will be up for grabs, providing a major boost to the winner's grading score ahead of official announcements later this month.

London booked their place in the showpiece event following a 74-8 demolition of Oldham on Sunday.

Jason Demetriou’s side, who have lost just once all season, remain on course to complete a domestic treble, having already claimed the League Leaders’ Shield and the 1895 Cup.

The Broncos avenged their sole regular-season defeat against Oldham with a dominant six-try first half. Early strikes from James Meadows, Brandon Webster-Mansfield, Robert Mathias, Elliot Wallis, Luke Smith, and Reagan Campbell-Gillard established a 40-0 lead by the interval.

London maintained their intensity after the restart, adding further scores through Mathias, Voro, and two apiece for Emarly Bitungane and Neil Tchamambe, the latter running the length of the field on the final hooter to complete a 14-try display. Oldham managed consolation tries through Morgan Smith and Jake Bibby, the latter marking his 100th career try, but were unable to bridge the gap.

In Saturday's preliminary final, Doncaster ended Newcastle Thunder’s 16-match winning run with a 33-18 victory away from home.

Richard Horne’s side built a 19-0 halftime cushion courtesy of a first-half hat-trick from Bureta Faraimo, supported by a penalty and drop goal from Connor Robinson. Second-half tries from Luke Briscoe and Connor Jones sealed the win, rendering late Newcastle responses from Jude Ferreira, Brad Ward, and Will Roberts insufficient.

Having already eliminated Barrow Raiders twice in the play-offs, Doncaster enter the final as the highest-ranked challenger aiming to derail London’s treble pursuit.
