Timini Primary School opens K50,000 double classroom

Timini Primary School in the Mumeng local level government of Bulolo District officially opened a new K50,000 double classroom last week, becoming the fourth of 33 primary schools in the district to complete the infrastructure project.

The double classroom was funded through a K50,000 allocation provided to each school in the district last year by the Bulolo District Development Authority [DDA] board to upgrade local learning facilities.

Bulolo MP Sam Basil Junior commended the school administration and community for their dedication in successfully delivering the building on time.

"Funds were distributed equally at K50,000 to all primary and secondary schools across the district to construct double classrooms," Basil Jr. said. "Timini Primary School is among the first to successfully complete its project."

The local MP said while some schools face logistical and geographical challenges that may delay construction, the DDA remains committed to supporting all project sites.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Basil Jr., members of the Bulolo DDA board, district and provincial education officials, ward councillors, community leaders, staff, students, and local residents.

Bulolo District Education Services Zone One Inspector, Wesley Rapish, emphasized that upgrading infrastructure directly impacts student outcomes and regional growth.

"The DDA is prioritizing education to build a strong human resource base for both local and national development," Rapish said.

He urged students to take pride in the new facilities and show their appreciation through hard work and academic performance.

Timini Primary School headteacher Samson Wangi expressed gratitude to the district leadership, noting that the DDA has provided nearly K100,000 in total financial support to the school.

"The new classroom was built from the initial K50,000 grant, with an additional support of nearly K50,000 provided to assist with other ongoing developments on campus," Wangi said.

In addition to the new double classroom, the DDA has committed to completing an unfinished classroom on site and funding a new multipurpose hall for the school.

Malangta Primary School in the Watut-Rural LLG is scheduled to open its new double classroom later this week, with several other schools across Bulolo District expected to follow soon.
