Acting CS Commissioner ready to step aside pending NEC appointment

Acting Correctional Service Commissioner Bernard Nepo says he is prepared to vacate the office once a new commissioner is formally appointed.

Mr. Nepo said the National Executive Council is expected to make an official announcement next week.

Nepo has served as Acting Commissioner of the Papua New Guinea Correctional Service since July 2024. His willingness to step aside follows recent leadership developments and related administrative matters within the institution.
