SP Brewery backs Goroka Show with K20,000
South Pacific Brewery has reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to the Goroka Show with a sponsorship of K20,000, continuing its support for one of Papua New Guinea’s most iconic cultural events.
The Goroka Show represents seven decades of cultural preservation, celebration, and shared heritage. Originally established to promote peace and unity among tribes, the event has grown into a symbol of national identity and cultural pride.
Presenting the cheque, SP Brewery representative, John Tole, expressed the company’s delight in supporting the annual event.
“We are proud of our longstanding partnership with the Goroka Show Committee and are delighted to once again support the biggest cultural show in the Highlands region,” Tole said.
“SP Brewery remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote culture and unity within communities. We are pleased to contribute to showcasing the diverse traditions of the Eastern Highlands Province, as well as those of neighboring regions,” he added.
On behalf of the Goroka Show Committee, Chairlady Keryn Hargreaves thanked SP Brewery for its continued partnership and support.
“SP Brewery is one of our longest-standing partners, and their ongoing support plays a vital role in sustaining cultural events like the Goroka Show. We sincerely appreciate their commitment and recognition of the work carried out by the committee. We look forward to delivering another successful show this year,” she said.
SP Brewery will be present at the festival from the 18th-20th of September 2026, with a booth promoting its Join the Generation of Change campaign. The campaign reinforces the company’s commitment to responsible consumption and promoting respect within communities.
Festival attendees aged 18+ are invited to visit the booth to learn more, engage with the SP Brewery staff on ground, and make a pledge to be part of the generation of change.
