Police Minister Sir John Pundari has described Tuesday night's conduct by Correctional Service personnel as totally unacceptable.

Police Minister Sir John Pundari has expressed disappointment at the reported conduct by the Correctional Service officers, which went viral on social media.

He says PNG has many highly trained and disciplined officers in the Correctional Service, the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary, and the PNG Defence Force, and that such behaviour must not be tolerated.

Sir John noted that the incident comes at a time when disciplined forces are removing firearms from communities and stressed that the integrity of security forces' armories is vital for community safety.

In a statement , Police Commissioner David Manning confirmed that measures have been implemented and appropriate RPNGC personnel deployed to prevent disturbance at CS facilities.

The Commissioner also urged detained CS personnel to remain calm and allow the investigation to proceed.
