All eighty- one ward councilors from the Tari Pori District of Hela Province will meet face-to-face with their Local MP and Prime Minister, James Marape at the Hulukumaiya House in Tari.

The meeting brings together Local Level Government (LLG) presidents and ward councilors from across the district after the successful 2025 LLG Elections in the district.

Many of the councilors described the occasion as a rare opportunity to directly raise development priorities and community concerns with the Prime Minister.

Currently, meeting is in progress for the Tari Pori District Development Authority (DDA) chaired by the PM.

The ward councilors have gathered at the venue and are awaiting the conclusion of the DDA session before their formal engagement with Prime Minister Marape begins.

DDA Chief Executive Officer, Jack Walara, confirmed that the eight-one ward councilors will officially receive their councilor badges today.

He stated that this is important as it symbolizes their roles as elected representatives and formal recognition of their leadership at the ward level.
