New Anglimp electorate declared in Jiwaka

Jiwaka province will now have four electorates after the creation of new Anglimp that is separated from Anglimp South Wahgi district.

The Electoral Border Commissioner Francis Kiaguru made the official declaration of new Anglimp Electorate at the proposed site for Anglimp District Head Quarter on Friday.

Kiaguru also declared the land boundary cuts through Wara Tuman separating Kudjip to South and all the way to Panga and Kambia, made up the new Anglimp electorate.

He clarified that open electorate boundaries runs in parallel with LLG boundaries.

"The Electoral Boundaries Commission and Lands Department cuts the new boundaries using local knowledge and existing LLG boundaries," he said.

Meanwhile, the district head quarter will be built at Anglimp Station to fully complete the national gazette of the new Anglimp electorate.

The Jiwaka Provincial Government also allocated K300,000 counter-funding to build the new district head-quarter building at Anglimp.

This declaration was made before the presence of Acting Electoral Commissioner Margret Vagi, representatives from the department of National Planning, Lands, Jiwaka provincial delegates amongst other high profiles from Jiwaka.
