Milne Bay PPC Kua commends Alotau for peaceful Easter

Alotau has reported a quiet Easter weekend, prompting Police to thank the public for choosing to celebrate it as it should.
Provincial Police Commander Chief inspector Benjamin Kua commended the public for ensuring a peaceful weekend of Easter events.
"This is a reflection of a great attitude towards what Easter really means," Kua praised Alotau residents.
There were minor incidents though as PPC Kua confirmed a hit and run incident at Women's Resource Center at Ahioma.
The victim, a 25-year-old man, broke his head upon impact, was taken to Alotau Provincial Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning with no eyewitnesses and the vehicle in question remains unknown at this stage.
Meantime, a suspect has been apprehended in a foiled robbery of a trade store near Alotau Fire Station.
A group of men tried to break and enter the store, were disturbed by the owner. The rest of attempt robbers fled whilst one was apprehended at the scene and is currently in custody.
PPC Kua said these matters are under investigation while also confirming no major reports coming in from the districts in Milne Bay.
