Western Highlands police launches Easter operation

Police Western Highlands with a manpower of about 360 men and women are now out in full force this Easter period.
The Easter operation for the province was launched yesterday where the Western Highlands Provincial Police Command came out to the city of Mt H agen and showed their strength for this period.
The show of strength started from Mt Hagen Police Station to TopTiwn Keltiga where an awareness was made.
Western Highlands Provincial Police Commander Chief Superintendent John Sagom urged the people of Western Highlands to celebrate and observe Easter peacefully mainly stressing on the consumption of alcohol during g this period.
"Western Highlands people are good people but alcohol only has done many harm and illegal things to the people and we must not reserve to alcohol consumption this Easter rather spend good and quality time with family".
"Just last week a police vehicle was ambushed in this area [Keltiga] and police carried out a raid all related to alcohol. And so I urged to you all to refrain from alcohol consumption and observe this Easter peacefully with family as police will not hesitate to use the full force of the law on anyone trying to cause public nuisane" said PPC Sagom.
The convoy of police vehicles showing their strength then proceeded into the suburbs of the city including Tee School, Warakum, Tarangau, then to Waghi Porr and Airport area and later finished in front of Tininga Renbo Rrgional Busstop where the same message was conveyed.
Meantime, the police Easter Operation started yesterday (Friday) and will end on Tuesday next week.
