O’Niell: Politics does not give full financial success, choose career pathway

The Former Prime Minister and Member for Iliabu-Pangia Peter O'Niell has called on the pioneer graduates of the Western Pacific University to put aside political aspirations and focus on building a career pathway.
Mr. O'Niell made this profound statement when was speaking at the first graduation ceremony of the Western Pacific University [WPU] on Friday this week.
"I see many of our university graduates in this country who think that aspiring to things like politics is the way of only success.
"Let me tell you, I'm at the end of my political career. Let me tell you this as a first-hand experience. There is not much success in politics. There's only pain and stress and politics does not make you successful financially.
"And in terms of job satisfaction I urge you to develop a career that is going to make you the success of your own life. Politics will come and go,"O'Niell said.
O'Niell was impressed that the university which was build under his government has successfully held its first graduation, graduating a total of 90 students.

The graduation was attended by Southern Highlands Governor, William Powi, Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Pila Niningi, Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology [DHERST], Kinoka Feo and other dignitaries.
