As the alternate Prime Minister nominee for the Vote of No Confidence, Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas has made it clear that his reason is to fix pressing issues affecting the country.

Sir Peter says the decline in basic service delivery continues to impact every citizen.

The veteran Enga leader clarified that his first step is to get government institutions on-track for better outcomes.

Sir Peter beleives PNG has lost its way and change in Government leadership is vital for a better Papua New Guinea.

He also maintained that he has nothing against Prime Minister Marape and says it's just politics.

"I'm not here to deliver on projects and talk about projects. The big task now is to fix the basics in this country.

"Get the government to do its job. There must be clear demarcation between roles of politicians. There must be clear demarcation between politicians and public servants.

"You look at all the constitutional institutions that have been compromised, weakened. Those need to be strengthened. So I am putting my hand up to fix the country, fix institutions.

"I'm not here to bring projects to anybody. My job is to get the basics right," Ipatas added.
