The Hela Education Services has arranged a BSP Customer Service Officer to assist Principals, head teachers, and Managers to transition their respective schools’ financial accounts to cheque accounts.

Director Ronny Angu issued this urgent message reminding them that they will be assisted during the term break holiday.

He said this measure is crucial for enhancing financial accountability, security, and operational efficiency in handling school finances.

“To streamline this process, the Hela Education Services has arranged for assistance through Mr. Benjaman Naai, Customer Service Officer.

“Mr. Naai will be available at the designated bank to facilitate the application process. He will provide assistance and guidance from Tuesday, April 8th, to Friday, April 11th, 2025,” he said.

The schedules are as follows;
Tuesday, April 8th: High Schools, Secondary Schools, and Vocational Centers
Wednesday, April 9th: Primary Schools
Thursday, April 10th: Primary Schools and Early Childhood Education sectors
Friday, April 11th: Early Childhood/Elementary Schools

Mr Angu explained that representatives from each school are required to present their school name and account details at the bank.

“Mr. Naai will guide them through the application process and assist with the necessary paperwork.

“Upon submission, schools should anticipate a processing time of up to two weeks before receiving their account information and cheque books,” he said.

The director further elaborates that the implementation of cheque accounts is a mandatory directive aimed at ensuring greater transparency in financial management across all schools.

He said these accounts will provide added security and efficiency, minimizing risks associated with other financial management methods.

“All school leaders are urged to prioritize this process and adhere to the schedule provided to avoid delays in compliance.

“Transitioning to cheque accounts is not only a compliance measure but also a step toward strengthening financial governance and building trust with stakeholders,” he said.

Mr Angu said for further queries or assistance, they should contact the education office or visit the designated bank during the specified dates.
