Sir Peter Ipatas accepts PM nomination

Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas is confident of becoming the next Prime Minister, as he accepts the call by the Opposition to be its alternate Prime Minister nominee.
The court has ordered for the recalling of Parliament next Tuesday, where a Vote of No Confidence against the sitting Prime Minister James Marape is expected.
Being one of the oldest serving politician in the country, Sir Peter says PNG needs an experienced leader to bring back confidence and stability.
In a press conference this afternoon, Sir Ipasta has confirmed that he will not back down from the nomination to be the alternate Prime Minister, although he's still a Government MP.
Governor Ipatas said, "I am not ambitious to be a Prime Minister, I am content being the Governor of Enga Province."
However, he says he volunteered amidst the public outcry for a new leadership to run the country.
With 27 years of leadership experience as the Governor of Enga Province, Sir Peter Ipatas, a long-serving parliamentarian, believes the country needs a mature and experienced leader to stabilize the nation, restore hope to the people, and instill confidence in businesses.
Meanwhile, the alternate Prime Minister has urged leaders on both sides of Parliament to make decisions that are in the best interest of the country.
