The National Parliament has been urgently told to recall on Tuesday, 8th April 2025 by the Supreme Court.

According to a notice issued on Tuesday afternoon by Clerk of Parliament Kala Aufa, notified that this was in compliance with the order of the Supreme Court dated 31st March.

A gazette notice accompanied this recall notice, by Speaker Job Pomat, for the urgent sitting at 10am.

This after a successful special reference filed by Deputy Opposition Leader James Nomane which saw a five men bench, order for Parliament to be recalled to entertain the motion of no confidence filed by the Opposition on November 27 2024.

The Supreme Court ruled this decision by the Parliamentary Private Business Committee to not entertain this motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister as "unconstitutional."
