Nomane applauded for upholding democracy

The people of Chuave district in Simbu Province have commended their leader James Nomane for ensuring democracy is maintained following his court victory yesterday.
Nomane’s remarkable victory in the five men Supreme Court reference against the Parliamentary Business Committee regarding the Vote of no Confidence, was applauded by locals from Kenai Yorogu and Elimbari.
A former ward five councilor in Elimbari Local Level Government Kiagi Sinowai said this achievement not only highlights Nomane’s dedication and commitment to upholding democracy but also reflects the voices and aspiration of his constituents in Chuave.
Sinowai said the court outcomes was not about the government or opposition and who would become the next Prime Minister but was a victory for democracy and the constitution.
“We are here today and be gone tomorrow but our democracy and constitution and the rule of law will be here forever and must not be abuse and tempered with to suit one's interest,” the former ward councilor said.
He also urged other Chimbu MPs to unite and support the deputy opposition leader in this crucial fight for democracy.
Sinowai called on parliamentary leaders to work together in ensuring the voices of Chimbu people are represented well and be steadfast in their commitment to serve with integrity and purpose.
