Kiunga airport upgrade to begin

Prime Minister James Marape is in Kiunga, Western Province, to officiate at the Kuinga Airport Upgrade Project, which coincides with the opening of the brand-new Kiunga terminal, built through a public-private partnership between the North-Fly DDA and PNG SDP.

Kuinga Airport is the second recipient of the second phase of the National Airports Corporation's Civil Aviation Development Investment Program [CADIP II].

The upgrade project comprises terminal construction, pavement improvements, and other associated works.

The National Airports Corporation [NAC], National Government, National Development Bank, and key partners, are in Kiunga today to witness the Kuinga Airport Upgrade Project groundbreaking ceremony.

The Prime Minister and his delegation were welcomed with a guard of honor by the PNG Defence Force and received by Western Province Governor Taboi Awi Yoto, Member for North Fly James Donald, and other provincial dignitaries.
