20,000 people of Buang LLG to benefit from water supply project

The Member for Bulolo MP Sam Basil Jr. has officially opened water taps this week at wards 11,12, and 13 of Buang Local Level Government [LLG] of Bulolo District in the Morobe Province.
This essential project will now change the life of near 20,000 people completely. It ensures that carrying heavy water containers and walking distance will become the story of the past for people Buang.
MP Basil said the water supply project is an ongoing project, carried forward from where his late father stopped.
Basil said water is fundamental to life and people deserved clean water.
"As the government of the day, I must make sure to improve access to clean and safe water for all.
"There'll be 30 to 40 taps to be installed in each 20 ward, including that there'll be 9000L tanks each," Basil Jr said.
The essential project has relieved the people who have been struggling for years. Dona John [43] of Bond village, said the burden of carrying water containers and loads of laundry for three to five hours to the river is now relieved.
She was grateful for the local MP meeting their needs.
Meanwhile, the Bulalo District Development Authority [BDDA] is anticipate to rollout the project to all the 65 wards in the district.
Local MP, Basil Jr also mentioned that the same will be done also for the solar project, which was launched in Manga village this week.
