Four male police officers in the National Capital District/Central Command, are waiting to be charged with sexual harassment at the workplace

This is the stand the NCD/Central Commandant is taking, to protect female police officers, and help curb sexual violence against women within the force.

The NCD/Central Commander, Benjamin Turi has called on the women in the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary [RPNGC], to speak up and report any form of harassment, from their male colleagues.

He made this statement during the National Women’s Day Celebration, which was marked by the Women in the RPNGC, today.

Mr Turi has also called on all Police Station Commanders [PSC], to pay attention to how the female officers are performing and promote them if they deserve one.

He says that every PSC has a responsibility to make sure female officers work alongside their male counterparts, without any harassment.

The NCD/Central Commander also commended the female officers for choosing a risky job, and one that also takes them away from their families.
