The University Church of PNG Bible Church, founded by pioneering students of the University of Papua New Guinea [UPNG], continues to serve as a vibrant student-centered ministry.

With a congregation primarily made up of students, along with a few dedicated elders, the church remains a pivotal spiritual community for UPNG students including other tertiary students.

Each year, the church hosts an annual orientation program to welcome new students and a special farewell ceremony for graduating students, where they are honored with a Certificate of Participation.

This tradition of support and engagement with students has become a hallmark of the church's mission, fostering a strong sense of community and spiritual growth.

Local church pastor Reverend Moresby Tunge shared insights of how the fellowship started 24 years ago.

As the Head Pastor of the PNG Bible Church Southern District, Revered Tunge emphasized the importance of nurturing young minds to develop good character and become productive citizens of the country.

He firmly believes that it is the responsibility of every Christian church to guide students toward becoming leaders with strong convictions.

The impact of the church on students is evident through the stories shared by past and present members. A third-year student and a first-year student recently spoke about how the church has deeply impacted their spiritual lives and helped them develop a clear focus for their future.

As the University Church of PNG Bible Church celebrates its continued growth and influence, it remains steadfast in its mission to nurture the next generation of leaders who will walk with purpose and contribute to the betterment of society.
