Deputy Opposition Leader, James Nomane has issued a Christmas message from Parliament House, expressing his heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues in Parliament.

In his message, Mr. Nomane acknowledged the contributions of several prominent figures in PNG's history, including founding father Sir Julius Chan, former Governor-General Sir Peter Ipatas, and former Prime Minister Peter O'Neill.

Mr. Nomane also extended his deepest sympathies to those who have lost loved ones this year.

He offered condolences to the family of the five-year-old child who tragically died in Vadavada, Port Moresby, and paid tribute to the police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Mr. Nomane urged all Papua New Guineans to use this Christmas season for reflection, prayer, and seeking God's forgiveness.

"I encourage everyone to break free from negativity and welcome the blessings of 2025, a significant year marking the 50th anniversary of PNG's independence," Nomane said.

Mr. Nomane emphasized the true spirit of Christmas – a time for giving, kindness, and helping one another as One People, One Country, and One Nation.
