Five parliamentary by-election writs to be returned on August

The writs for the five parliamentary by-elections including the Motu-Koita Assembly election will be returned on August 22.
Electoral Commissioner, Simon Sinai says the deferral to September will only affect the Local Level Government election.
"Affecting same provinces but in a different manner again, and that's the normal by-elections which are conducted in Aitape-Lumi, Usino-Bundi, Kabwum, Porgera-Piaela, and Central Bougainville.
"Those are normal elections that we do and those are electoral elections so it's going and fortunately we delivered Central Bougainville.
"The other third one is the Motu-Koita election which has its own parliamentary act to be operated as another entity or a government and that is considered by way of that provision and parliament act so they have to operate so it's running at the same time.
"And for people's information and how it's happening, the delay of the elections is only for the LLG and the Motu-Koita and the by-elections they continue with the previous dates." Commissioner Sinai said.
