Polye calls for SOE extension in Enga province

The Member for Kandep Don Polye has called for an extension of the State of Emergency [SOE] to all parts of Enga for another two months.
Mr Polye believes extending the SOE throughout the Province is critical.
The Kandep MP said Enga has experienced different tribal fights and order must be restored with agencies of law taking lead to bring back normalcy.
"But let me call the state entities, especially state authorities, the national government and the police and everybody else, that we should extend the state of emergency to the rest of Enga.
"It should not be limited to just one month, but I think at least a minimum of two months would be a good time frame to manage the trouble fights and law and order situation," Mr Polye said.
He was impressed by the swift intervention by security forces urging further that all stakeholders need to work together for lasting solutions.
