Pope’s visit is timely: Deputy Prime Minister

The visit by the Head of the Catholic Church Pope Francis comes at a time when the country is in need of hope, healing and unity.

Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso stated this , after receiving His Holiness at the Jackson 's International APEC terminal last night.

" His Holiness has always been a beacon of compassion , love and humility. His message of peace and reconcilation resonates deeply with our people, who are striving to overcome challenges and build a future grounded on mutual respect and understanding, "says Rosso.

He says highlighted the significant role of the Catholic Church in the social abd cultural aspects of the country , particularly education , health and community development.

Mr Rosso says this is a time to reflect on the values that binds everyone together.

The DPM wishes the Holiness a successful and meaningful visit.

He's confident this historic visit will leave a lasting legacy of hope and inspiration for future generations.
