PNG MP’s urged to be considerate of the wellbeing of Papua New Guinean’s

Madang MP Brian Kramer says there are no two things about improving the life of citizens in the country.
Kramer said Members of Parliament are on a hefty payroll and must serve the interest of their people.
He said the hardship faced by families cannot be ignored by politicians.
The Madang MP says he pulled out from Government because people continue to suffer because of poor leadership decisions.
Mr Kramer appealed to all members of Parliament to consider the plight of their people.
"But how can we justify K28,000 per fortnight [for state ministers] when thousands of millions of Papua New Guineans are looking for food to put on the table to feed their kids?
"So that was one of the issues that I felt difficult and difficult to reconcile and it's something that all members of parliament need to take note of.
"We are all paid significant money or public funds, the people's money not our money and we have nothing to sacrifice. So, it's a life of comfort and privilege that will be given and bestowed by the people being voted in to represent them.
"They need to start thinking about what are the decisions that they make in the best interest of the people and the country, not just their election because I am certain 2027 if change is not taken most of all the MPs in government they will not be returned by the people.
"That I'm pretty much certain given the state of the economy and where we will be in two years' time," Mr Kramer said.
