ICT Minister Masiu pushes for Pacific voice in Asia Region

Some 400 delegates from about 50 countries are attending the 19th Asia Media Summit,in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, this week.

Prior to the Summit proper, participating media practitioners representing radio, television and online or digital platforms, shared experiences on their respective country's responses to emerging new digital transformation like Artificial Intelligence, fake news and their impacts on information output to the public.

Information, Communication and Technology Minister, Timothy Masiu, in an earlier session implored for a Pacific voice in the Asia region, in relation to the digitalization of the Media.

And one avenue was through such gatherings as the Asia Media Summit, to gain knowledge and share experiences of respective country's handling of effects of these emerging digital challenges.

Discussions have centred around AI, fake news, disinformation and misinformation, among others.

The Summit ends on Wednesday, this week.

Cambodia will host the 20th Asia Media Summit in 2025.
