Court reinstates Kramer

Madang MP Bryan Kramer has been reinstated by the National Court on Thursday this week after a successful application to stay his dismissal from office by his lawyer, Nelson Kopunye.
He resumes office as Madang MP while awaiting his judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court.
Kramer confirmed with this newsroom, this outcome however didn't comment on further questions.
A leadership tribunal found the Madang MP guilty of seven misconduct offenses last year with recommendations for his dismissal.
The first two allegations relate to scandalizing of the judicial system on Facebook which were proven against him while the other 5 are allegations of misconduct in office.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister James Marape in a statement congratulated Bryan Kramer on the outcome of his court application relating to the case on his dismissal from office.
“I commend his maturity and resilience. Without protesting publicly and no matter how long it has taken, he has deployed the use of our country’s courts to exercise his Constitutional rights.
“The Honorable Kramer represents a class of politicians who fight for what they believe is right. They are not in politics for the love of money or fame but there to do what is right for their people.
“I am blessed to have him in my coalition among members who share this same view.
“Since we assembled in 2019, the majority of us have remained together, united in our common cause to serve our people. Kramer is one of these leaders.
“I am glad he is back. I welcome him and will be supporting him in his role as Member for Madang and whatever other role Government gives him,” said Marape.
