At the same event where district education services received two new vehicles, the Jiwaka Provincial Government and Administration also announced funding support to improve police housing in Anglimp South Waghi District.

Policing in the Anglimp South Waghi area of Jiwaka Province has been boosted following a commitment to build additional police houses.

This after the Jiwaka Provincial Government and Administration counter-funded the district development authority with K500,000 to build five additional staff housing for police in Kindeng.

District Administrator Rick Kogen highlighted that this is part of the Provincial Government and Administration commitment to improve staff welfare and boosting work ethics in the police department.

Police housing remains a major factor affecting efficient delivery of policing services in many parts of the country.

The funding will be used to build additional houses at the Kideng police barracks, which were built by their local MP and the Minister for Correctional Services [CS], Joe Kuli, under the district services improvement program funds.

The provincial government has been focused on boosting policing in the province with 40 police housing built already at a cost of K6million, two police vehicles and renovation of the Nondugul Police Station.

This funding is part of the continuous support given by the provincial government and administration to strengthen Law and Order in the province.

"The Provincial Government and Administration has built 40 police housing at the cost of K6million, donated two police vehicles, and renovated Nondugl police station.

"This K500, 000 is part of the continuous support to build capacity and strengthen law and order in the province." Jiwaka Administrator Rick Kogen said.
