Improved surveying practices to boost development
Landowners and investors combined can significantly boost development in Papua New Guinea if surveying practices are improved.
This was the core message stressed during the opening of the 58th Survey Congress of the Association of Surveyors in PNG [ASPNG] in Wewak on Wednesday this week.
East Sepik Governor Allan Bird, challenged the attendees of the surveyors' congress to provide solutions for unemployment through land monetization without neglecting landowners' interests.
According to Bird, a good partnership between customary landowners and investors can provide more employment options for the unemployed youths.
"Focus on how your profession can solve these problems or at least provide advice on how to solve these problems", Bird said.
Redefined laws coupled with the latest technological advancement will improve systems in the lands and planning industry, and enhance investment opportunities in the country.
