Morobe PPC calls on citizens to celebrate Easter responsibly and peacefully

Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Chief Superintendent, Samson Siguyaru has called on all citizens of Morobe to celebrate Easter responsibly and peacefully without causing violence.

PPC Siguyaru urged the public to maintain law and order throughout the festive period and avoid alcohol related violence and all forms of anti-social behaviors as well.

PPC extends his warm easter greetings to all the residents of Morobe province, including the dedicated officers of the Morobe Provincial Police command as well.

Mr Siguyaru reminded everyone that Easter is a significant period in the Christian calendar, symbolizing sacrifice, renewal, hope, and unity. It is a time for families and communities to come together in reflection and celebration.

"Police presence will be maintained across the province during the easter period. Police officers will be conducting patrols and operations to ensure the safety and security of all citizens whilst they continue to carry out their duties diligently. And public cooperation remains essential in maintaining peace and order.

“The communities are reminded that safety is a shared responsibility and the Morobe Police Command remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all residents and visitors during the easter celebrations,” PPC said.

PPC Siguyaru however commend his policemen and policewomen in the command, along with the Northen Mobile Group for successfully executing police operations during the recent official visit of the Chief Justice, Sir Gibuma Gibbs Salika and his delegations to Morobe Province where he officiated the opening of the Finschhafen National Court House.
