The government has directed PNG Power Limited to immediately look at options to sort out the easy pay system failure.

Minister for State Owned Enterprises William Duma told NBC News this morning, everything that is humanely possible is being done to fix this issue.

It has now been three days, since a major nationwide system outage, forcing customers and businesses to stand in cues for long hours to purchase power or leaving many homes in total darkness.

Duma also denied claims that the outage is a deliberate act by PPL to make fast money.

Frustrated consumers and the general public took to social media, slamming the power company, for what many describe as unreliable electricity service, calling for major reforms.

And despite a notice that the system was restored yesterday, attempts to purchase easy pay were still unsuccessful.

NBC News can confirm that it is still receiving reports from other centers like Kavieng , Lae and Kokopo are facing similar dilemma.

A reliable source told this newsroom, that the situation is beyond the state entity's control.

Meantime, PPL maintains that the easy pay outage is a technical issue, and their team is working tirelessly to fix it.
