Association hosts crusade to motivate students for new academic year
A five-day back-to-school crusade and education awareness program was held at Muk High School in Jiwaka Province, aimed at motivating young people through faith and education.
The program was hosted by the Tuman Menge Elites Student Association, made up of tertiary students from the Menge Tribe, who say human resource is the only asset available to their isolated community in Rogump Ward One.
Association President James Kami says this is the second time the event has been held, with an increase in attendance compared to the first program.
The crusade featured two main segments in praise and worship led by pastors from different churches, and education motivation talks delivered by tertiary students and professionals from the workforce. Speakers shared their personal journeys in education and employment to inspire young people to stay in school.
The association raises funds throughout the year and seeks support from business houses and the provincial government to run the program annually.
Organisers say the crusade will now be held every year to strengthen both spiritual growth and education, with hopes that other communities across Papua New Guinea will take similar initiatives to guide and empower their young people.
