PEA: Pay raise must hit public servants this fortnight
The Public Employees Association has called on the government to make sure the 3% pay raise for public servants is paid in this fortnight’s salary.
Workers across the country are looking forward to seeing the extra money in their first pay of 2026.
PEA General Secretary Ugwalubu Mowana says there should be no delays, pointing out that an agreement with the Department of Personnel Management was already signed back in October last year.
However, not all public servants will get this pay increase.
Agencies like teachers and the disciplined forces will miss out because they follow separate salary guidelines and laws, Mr Mowana said.
The PEA General Secretary added that the government has had plenty of time since the agreement was signed to make sure the salary increase is paid as promised.
