Business steps in as Golden Sunset fuels West Sepik police festive operations
A local business has stepped in to support law enforcement efforts in West Sepik Province, donating fuel to ensure police remain mobile and visible during the high-risk Christmas and New Year period.
Golden Sunset Limited has presented a fuel voucher worth 1,000 litres, valued at K5,600, to support police operations across the province.
Company owner Noel Tumpi, a former police officer, said the donation was aimed at strengthening police capacity to maintain safety and security during the festive season, when crime rates traditionally increase.
Tumpi said he was pleased to give back to the police force and support officers tasked with protecting communities during Christmas and New Year.
The fuel voucher was formally received by West Sepik Provincial Police Commander, Senior Inspector Silas Kuainou, who described the support as timely and critical to maintaining effective patrols.
Senior Inspector Kuainou thanked Golden Sunset Limited, saying the fuel assistance would help police remain operational and responsive throughout the festive period.
The donation highlights the growing role of private sector support in strengthening frontline policing, particularly during peak periods when operational demands and resource constraints are highest.
