500 gift bags filled with Snax biscuits, Lewa biscuits and Snax noodles were shared with patients as well as nurses and doctors on duty in the pediatric, psychiatric, medical, surgical, TB, gynecology, ICU, labor and the emergency wards of Angau General Hospital in Lae, by the Lae Biscuit Company.

For many of the patients who are unfortunate to be spending Christmas in the hospital, this simple gesture brought smiles and a sense of being remembered during their difficult time right on Christmas eve.

The Lae Biscuit Brand and Events Coordinator, Glenda Waikulai said the donation was intended to spread festive cheer and bring comfort to patients during the Christmas season, especially for those receiving care far from their families.

She noted that the company has consistently supported local initiatives, adding that the donation reflects Lae Biscuit Company’s ongoing commitment to standing with the community, particularly in times like this when kindness matters.

Ms Waikulai hopes that the gesture will encourage other corporate organizations to support local communities and health services, demonstrating how businesses can positively impact lives beyond commerce.

Acting Hospital Manager, Dr.Ruso Perone, accepted the donation on behalf of Angau General Hospital and expressed sincere appreciation to Lae Biscuit Company for its continued support.

“On behalf of Angau, we are very grateful and truly appreciate this kind gesture from Lae Biscuit Company,” Dr Perone said.

He added that for several years, Lae Biscuit Company has continued to support the children’s ward through similar donations, describing the initiative as one of many meaningful contributions made by the company to the hospital.

Dr Perone also made mention and acknowledged the support of Chemica, which donated toys to the children’s ward earlier this week, bringing added joy to the young patients for the festive season.
