On behalf of the Managing Director of Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited, Simon Kanu and the members of KMHL Board, Mr Manda said, "We are so delighted to see the actual procurement of these much needed equipment for the ICU. We are glad to see that the equipment is here. We are also committed to serving the people of Papua New Guinea to make sure that there is a safe and sound environment for delivery of medical services throughout the country. This is one of our contributions to saving the lives of our people."

He further stated that not many hospitals in the country have access to such equipment and that Madang Provincial Hospital is privileged to be a recipient.

Mr Manda also extended KMHL's appreciation to the Madang Golf President George Ireng as well as the President of Madang Country Club, Robert Turik, for providing support towards the 2023 Charity Golf Event which resulted in the commitment by the Prime Minister towards Madang Provincial Hospital.

Similar assistance of K48, 000, funds raised during last year's charity event; was given to the Gaubin Rural Hospital on Karkar Island in May this year.

This will go towards the purchase of an X- ray machine for Gaubin Hospital.

Meanwhile, the event for this year has been scheduled for August 22, which will raise funds for the purchase of a digital X- ray machine for Yagaum Rural Hospital, another church- run health facility in Madang Province.

Mr Ireng is urging business houses in Madang to support the August event as it will be for a worthy cause.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of Madang PHA, Dr Sammy Thomas, and Board Chairman, Dr Boga Figa both expressed great appreciation for the donation.

Dr Thomas said the struggles hospitals go through to source such equipment is not easy and from the depth of his heart thanked KMHL.

Dr Figa said, "One million kina is a lot of money to us."

KMHL is a national company owned by the people of Papua New Guinea and has a social responsibility to assist the people as and when required; one of which is the Madang Provincial Hospital.
