People of Elimbari call immediate road maintenance amidst coffee season

The devastating condition of the Gogo Karweri road in the Elimbari Local Level Government [LLG] of Chuave district in Simbu province is badly affecting service delivery and the people especially when the coffee season is at it's peak.
Vehicle and small business owners, teachers and students of the Kawari High School called on the Chuave District Authority to facilitate the upgrade of the road from Gogo to Karweri and Damagu.
Frequent commuter, Sieng Mona said Elimbari LLG deserve better road conditions because they are part of many coffee producing areas that contribute economy to, Simbu and PNG.
He said apart from coffee and other small businesses in operation, Elimbari LLG has eight primary school, one high school, one technical vocational institution, two rural health centers and four aid-posts.
While commending local MP James Nomane for his tremendous performance in the nation level to defend constitution and fight corruption, they appeal his District Development Authority [DDA] to consider the plea of his people.
He said it's urgent that Chuave DDA set up funds to cater for upgrade which is a basic requirement.
Francis Aiwa, CEO of Chuave district in respond said that Gogo Karweri road has been captured under the Asian Development Bank [ADB] under the Sustainable Highlands Region Core Road Network Project which will commence soon.
He said with the funding constrain they only focus on the feeder roads from Ai Gun Road, West Border to Gorogu, Suwagu and Monega to Laiya -Chuave road.
"This feeder roads have been neglected by previous governments over decades which is a distance dream for the people and now it becomes realty," he said.
He added that at this point in time they can't do much as funding is not made available and he urged people to be patient.
