Bad road affects nomination day

While nominations of the LLG election begin today in Simbu province, Electoral Commission is yet to find an ideal location for three LLGs in the Salt Nomane Karamui District to make nominations due to several landslides and bad weather conditions that have affected movement of assistant returning officers.
Simbu election manager, reverand Tom Sine said they are yet to establish central locations for Nomane, Karamui and Salt LLG but assured that this will be sorted out by this weekend.
Sine confirmed with NBC News this morning that the road from Nomane to Dulai is badly affected by the induced bad weather conditions, causing massive landslips.
He said that apart from the Salt Nomane Karamui, all nominations from the five other districts in Simbu have progressed well today.
Rev. Sine also said the outstanding allowances for the census workers last year have been paid starting today and will continue next week.
