Western Highlands to receive nomination starting today

The Western Highlands Province is prepared, and will start receiving nominations for the Local Level Government (LLG) elections, after the Writs were officially opened at 4:00 p.m yesterday.
Western Highlands Election Manager Philip Telape, confirmed with NBC News, that following a day long training for the Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), writs were issued, and nominations will start to be made on Friday 25th April 2025 and onwards, for the next seven days.
Mr. Telape added that the nominations cannot be taken by the AROs until gazette, as they are legally bound, thus the gazette list of AROs only arrived in the province on Wednesday afternoon, and this was followed by the one-day training on Thursday 24 th April.
The Western Highlands Election Manager added that nomination forms will be distributed to each LLG offices on Friday morning, and nominations will be made at the respective LLG offices in the districts, the same day.
The Western Highlands Province has four districts, 11 LLGs and 316 Council Wards.
