Auris sensational rise in corporate cricket continues snapping 7th straight victory

National Broadcasting Cooperation Auris continued its unbeaten run in Cooperate Cricket competition, registering the 7th consecutive win over Digicel Redbacks.

Redbacks hearts were broken as the Auris stole the show in the dying overs of the Port Moresby Cooperate whax cricket comp.

Maru Hobart and Linda Ila kept the pressure cooker under control bating NBC to seven straight win in the final overs of the 10-over competition.

Digicel where on track to give the National Broadcaster a taste of defeat at the Bisini Cricket Oval yesterday.

With 6 consecutive win, and a wet surface, Digicel Redbacks after winning the toss, elected to bat first.

And with a modest target of 67 runs to win on a sloppy pitch, got the telecommunication company coming out to field with a game plan.

Some tight blowing from Digicel with wickets to celebrate, where on the winning call after 5 overs as NBC needed 44 runs from 30 balls.

It was obvious the odds were against NBC, in the dying overs of the match with 2 frames remaining.

NBC needed 18 runs from 12 balls with 6 wickets on hand to turn the tide and maintain the winning streak.

Digicel with a game plan on numerous balls couldn't take the wicket of NBC female batter Linda Ila, which broke their hearts, as she hit a boundary in the second last over of the match.

Ila's power play set up a crucial finish with Auris still needing 4 runs from 6 balls to win the game.

And the experience of former Barramundis player Maru Hobart came in handy as he struck a boundary to get NBC home with a celebration of 7 consecutive victories.
