Morobe Govenor Luther Wenge has acknowledged Treasury Minister Ian Ling-Stukey for approving Morobe's budget of K723.96m.

The 2025 Morobe Provincial Budget prioritizes infrastructure improvements, social service delivery, and economic initiatives, with significant allocations to capital projects, education, and local commerce.

While it represents an incremental increase from 2024, the budget maintains a focus on operational stability and provincial development.

Governor Luther Wenge, said, the budget aligns with the province’s "Smart and Advance Morobe 2022 and Beyond" strategy and Papua New Guinea’s Medium-Term Development Plan Four (MTDP IV).

He emphasized that the financial plan is designed to align with national economic objectives while addressing Morobe’s diverse needs across its urban and rural regions.

Wenge attributed the government for its understanding and called for larger budget allocation as Morobe is one of the biggest province's with 10 districts needing huge funding for service delivery.

He appealed to his fellow Morobe MPs to complay to the Provincial Budget Priority meeting in the future to avoid disputing the budget when discussed in the Tutumang-Provincial house of assembly.

The Morobe governor said provincial budget priority neeting occurs two weeks prior to having the Provincial Executives Council to pass a budget, before going to the provincial assembly.

He called on the local MPs but they all failed to attend, except for Wau Waria and Tewae Siassi MP who attended.
Wenge said; "they were given the opportunity to show up and advise with any projects according to their 5 year development plan for their district's then we should put the money in."
