Five suspects locked up for Baruni killing

Five suspects involved in the brutal murder of Margret Gabriel at Baruni are being held at Boroko cell and are helping with the police investigation.
Assistant Commissioner Benjamin Turi said the first three suspects arrested earlier have been released after cooperating with the police to identify the main suspects.
ACP Turi explained that NCD and Central Police are working together because they believe some suspects may have fled to Central Province and are hiding there.
He added that Central Police arrested three suspects: two in Sogeri, one in Tapini, and the other two were picked up in Port Moresby.
"Five have admitted to committing the crime however, the police homicide team with the help from the Australian Federal Police are still putting evidence together to at least get a conviction when the case goes to court", Mr Turi said.
ACP Turi commended the Goiliala community outside of Port Moresby for cooperating with police in the identification and apprehension of most of the suspects.
He said these men are dangerous and no one should be aiding them in their communities.
Police will also arrest anyone who is caught harboring or aiding these suspects.
