In a significant boost to law enforcement in Hela Province, ten semi-trailers carrying containers filled with fully equipped police houses have safely arrived at Komo Station in the Komo Hulia District.

This marks the beginning of a major initiative, with a total of 20 new police houses planned for Komo, and the first ten now officially on site.

Amos Libe, coordinator of the Hela Police Housing roll-out program, shared that after the successful completion of the first 30 houses at Pai and Enopi Police Barracks, Komo is the first district station to receive these much-needed accommodations.

He encouraged the local community to support the contractor during the installation process as they await the arrival of the second batch of houses.

Mr. Libe also highlighted Governor Philip Undialu’s plan to build a total of 500 houses by 2027, demonstrating a long-term commitment to improving police infrastructure across the province.

Komo Station’s ward councilor, Timothy Ape, thanked the Hela Provincial Government for prioritizing Komo over other centers. He emphasized that the community is set to support and contribute to ongoing development initiatives.

Reflecting on the district's history of tribal conflicts, Mr Ape highlighted the community's commitment to embracing positive change and moving forward.
