Air Niugini has announced the suspension of all flights to Brisbane, Australia, until Friday morning, citing severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm Alfred.

The airline stated that the decision was made due to strong winds, heavy rainfall, and potential flooding, which could impact operations at Brisbane Airport.

In a statement released this morning, the national flag carier explained that the suspension is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft.

The airline is closely monitoring the situation and will resume services as soon as it is safe to do so.

Affected passengers will be offered the option to rebook their flights at no additional charge once operations resume.

Passengers who were scheduled to fly on Thursday have already been rebooked on the next available Brisbane flight at no extra cost.
