NBC shines in Public Servants Netball with a nail-biting grand final victory

National Broadcasting Corporation shone in division 7 of the Public Servants Netball Association grand final with a narrow 15-13 victory over Forestry.

Fans were on the edge of their seats to witness one of the nail-bitting finals showdown at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex as NBC Team 2 triumph.

Down by two points in first half, NBC 2 captain Rachel Boga challenged her flock to regroup and fight back in the second stanza with a spirited performance.

“After trailing we had to make sure that we changed our focus and when we did that, we managed to pull through and come up with the win in the end,” Boga said.
The skipper played a crucial role keeping her ladies within the finals rhythm, providing necessary leadership on the court and sheds.

Boga was full of smiles after the game and gave credit to their opponents, Forestry for giving them a run for their money.

She described NBC team two’s run this season in division 7 as remarkable, securing memorable victories leading up to the grand-final.

The broadcasting team was made of young girls with only few mothers providing the experience within the group.

“Our participation in the Public Servants Netball Competition is also about grooming young players, that is why we have players as young as 13 in our team two,” Boga said.
