Police unaware of sit-in-protest documents circulating on social media

Police in the National Capital District and Central Province, will be on full alert to monitor the movement of people on Monday, the 3rd of March 2025 .

National Capital District and Central Commander, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Benjamin Turi, in a statement said that he has directed his Police Station Commanders and each Divisional Head, to monitor people on this day, in regards to a sit in protest document,  that was circulated on social media.

Commander Turi said that police have not received anything regarding this protest, and they are not aware of it, and this makes any public gathering illegal.

"Those who are involved will be arrested and charged with unlawful assembly or gathering, because no one has turned up and claimed ownership of the document which has been circulated, despite it being stamped," Turi said.

Commander Turi also added that those who wish to address issues of concern, must follow the proper process.
