Exciting Papua New Guinea Orchids second rower Emily Vievers has made a move to join Wigan Warriors for the 2025 Women’s Super League season.

The Orchids star along with Remi Wilton are Wigan’s new recruits for this year’s Betfred Women’s elite competition.

Vievers said the career-changing move would provide enormous opportunity to horn her development as a player and potentially open doors for other PNG Orchids troupes, aspiring to play in England.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in the Betfred Women’s Super League over here in England and joining Wigan,” Vievers said.

“The Club and environment here is amazing and I couldn’t be more happy.

“I think it’s a massive opportunity for me as a player and a role model for the younger generation coming through in Papua New Guinea and Australia, just showing that there’s a lot of opportunities out there in the World if you just stay determined you can do anything”

The 23-year-old has been a core member of the Orchids since making her debut for PNG in the 2022 Rugby League World Cup.

Vievers had capped seven international tests for Orchids including her recent appearance in the Pacific Championships last year.

The Queensland-based forward etched her BMD Premiership name in 2019 for the Souths Logan Magpies prior to spending two seasons (2021-2022) with the Brisbane Tigers.

She made 8 appearances for North Devils in the tier-two women’s competition before inking the deal with Warriors.
