Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang has resumed his role as the Provincial Police Commander [PPC] of Simbu Province, effective Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

His welcome parade took place in the heart of Kundiawa Town, where he addressed both officers and the public.

Supt. Rubiang emphasized his plans to improve policing in the province. Having served Simbu for 30 years, he is familiar with its unique challenges.

Residents from across the province gathered to welcome him back as their police leader.

The Ward 4 Councilor of Dukane LLG in Kerowagi District expressed the community's gratitude, highlighting the importance of Rubiang's return during a period of growing law and order issues.

Supt. Rubiang thanked Police Commissioner David Manning and his deputies for their confidence in his appointment.

He acknowledged that discipline issues within the police force have contributed to law and order problems in Simbu.

He warned officers that only those who perform will remain in their roles, urging them to improve discipline for effective policing.

""Before I can fight for law and order situation in the province, I will be getting my house in order. Some of you commanders are still there, and I know your strengths and weaknesses. You either perform or chip out," PPC Rubiang said.

He also called for support from the Simbu Provincial Government, MPs, businesses, and the public to tackle crime.

His operational plans will begin on Friday, including support for the provincial government's liquor ban.

His focus remains on restoring order, ensuring that the people of Simbu feel the impact of a strengthened legal system.
