Minister Richard Masere leads team to observe election in Australia

The Government aims to implement biometric voting in the 2027 national election.
It is undertaking a major electoral reform to achieve this while addressing some of the election-related issues faced in the past elections.
As part of this reform, the first government delegation visited India on a fact-finding mission this year led by Administrative Services Minister, Richard Masere.
Mr. Masere, is now leading a second government delegation to Australia on the invitation of the Australian Government to witness the Queensland State Elections.
He was accompanied by Inter-Government Relations Minister Soroi Eoe, and Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai among other government officials.
“On Monday and Tuesday we will meet with the Queensland Electoral Commissioner and then on Wednesday we fly across to Sydney, to meet with the New South Wales Electoral Commissioner.
"This is particularly to understand the streamlined voting system that they introduced last year during the elections and see whether that system can also be looked at for us to use in Papua New Guinea,” Masere said.
