PNG to host 2025 Pacific Education Ministers Conference

Papua New Guinea will host the second conference of Pacific Education Ministers [CPEM] in March 2025.

A total 15 Education Ministers from the Pacific Islands including Australia and New Zealand will attend.

The announcement was made this morning by Education Minister, Lucas Dekena.

The announcement today also marked the official launch of CPEM logo and website.

Minister Dekena said the conference is crucial to shape the future of regional education where experts in education will gather and address pressing challenges within the education sector while charting a path forward for sustainable and inclusive education systems in Pacific Island nations.

"By coming together, ministers can share insights and collaborate on solutions to overcome these hurdles, ensuring that every child has access to quality education,"Mr Dekena said.

Secretary Dr Uke Kombra as Chairman of CPEM Steering Committee says the conference will find a way to create a roadmap to overcome issues in education.

"I am looking forward to making 2nd CPEM a successful one and I have trust in each of us that we can make this a successful one,"Dr Kombra said.

The co-host of the CPEM will be University of South Pacific.
